Healthcare Cleaning Forum marks major success with a focus on high-quality development in healthcare
The Healthcare Cleaning Forum held in Shenzhen on 20 July 2024, was a major success, bringing together leading experts from Shenzhen, Foshan, and Guangzhou to explore the future of healthcare logistics and cleaning services. Under the “Healthy China's High-Quality Development”, theme, the event facilitated discussions on optimising medical resource allocation, improving service quality, and expanding these advancements across the Greater Bay Area.
Industry leaders emphasise collaboration in healthcare cleaning
The forum was hosted by Michael Zhang, Project Manager of Interclean Shanghai. The event featured keynote addresses and discussions by prominent figures in the healthcare industry, including Mr. Zhuang Junhan, Chairman of the Shenzhen Hospital Administrator Association, and Mr. Hou Guoqiang, Secretary General of the Healthcare Institutions Building Evaluation Committee of the same association.
In his opening remarks, Mr. Zhuang emphasised the importance of collaborating with RAI China and RAI Amsterdam to leverage advanced international cleaning and hygiene standards. “This forum allows us to connect with leading global brands and technologies, helping us meet the growing demands of hospital logistics and ultimately enhancing the safety and health of patients and healthcare workers,” said Mr. Zhuang.
Mr. Hou highlighted the challenges faced by the healthcare system in meeting healthcare associated infection (HAI) regulations and the critical role of international cooperation in overcoming these obstacles. “By introducing international experts and innovative products to the Chinese market, we can continuously improve the standards and quality of medical cleaning services, providing patients with a safer environment,” he stated.
Insights on enhancing hospital cleaning standards
Several healthcare and logistics leaders shared their insights on the current state and future direction of hospital cleaning services. Mr. Li Jiangbo, Director of the Logistics Department at Shenzhen Sun Yat-sen Cardiovascular Hospital, noted the need for better standards and professional training within the industry. Similarly, Mr. Zhang Rui, Deputy Director of the Phase II Construction Office at Shenzhen Bao’an District People’s Hospital, emphasised the importance of skilled cleaning staff as a critical component of infection control.
“Customisation” was a key theme for Mr. Liao Zhenfang, Director of Logistics at Shenzhen Guangming District People's Hospital, who advocated for tailored cleaning processes that address specific hospital needs, including HAI control and occupational exposure.
Advancements in hospital cleaning: new standards and technology
The forum also featured contributions from the property management and cleaning sectors. Leaders from Guangdong Minglong Environmental Engineering Co., Ltd., Guangdong Jinkui Logistics Service Co., Ltd., and other companies underscored the need for new industry standards to manage hospital cleaning processes more effectively.
Mrs. Ma Yingying, Marketing Director of Greater China for Nilfisk, introduced advanced robotic cleaning equipment, sparking discussions on how technology can address current challenges in hospital logistics. Representatives from American Standard China also presented healthcare cleaning solutions designed to enhance patient and worker safety while optimising operational efficiency.
Looking ahead to Interclean Shanghai 2024
The success of the Healthcare Cleaning Forum in Shenzhen sets the stage for further exploration and innovation in the field at Interclean Shanghai 2024, scheduled for 11 – 13 December 2024. This event will gather global experts, cleaning enterprises, and service providers to continue the conversation on improving hospital cleaning standards, labour efficiency, and intelligent logistics solutions.
