As the market adapted and evolved so did the added requirements sought by the ‘game players’ with sustainability initiatives also rising to the forefront. Cleaning industry professionals are becoming advisors on bigger issues on health and hygiene. This conference is organised by the China Cleaning Industry Association and the I&I Cleaning Branch of China Washing Association, in order to promote the high-quality development of the cleaning industry. It effectively builds a communication bridge between the upstream and downstream industrial chains, brand enterprises and market users. 

This year's annual conference will focus on core topics such as "Clean Innovation from a Global Perspective - The Future and Sustainable Development of Commercial Clean", and deeply discuss the development trends of new raw materials, product technologies and applications, market and marketing trends, and the status quo and development path of domestic and foreign policies and regulations.

The presentation will highlight the latest and most important developments in the European market for cleaning systems and explain them with specific points for the audience. Emphasis will be placed on the industry's efforts to produce more sustainable machines and what role autonomous machines are taking in Europe. In today’s fast-paced world, where health and safety have taken centre stage, the significance of maintaining a clean and safe environment cannot be overstated. If facility managers and cleaning professionals are to succeed as champions of the indoor environment, then identifying what to measure is crucial for maximising our ability to protect people, property, and the overall quality of the indoor environment. 
Tools such as UV lights, ATP meters, Indoor Air Quality Monitors can help increase operational efficiency, reduce costs, and improve the quality of cleaning services. Let’s discuss the knowledge and skills necessary to measure and analyse the cleanliness of air, surfaces, and water in buildings, ensuring a healthier and safer environment.

In the context of the coronavirus pandemic, the focus on hygiene concepts has been greatly increased. The hygiene infrastructure has been significantly improved and the topic has been omnipresent in the media as well. But even though we have learned a lot about hygiene concepts, their structure and how they work, the topic has once again been pushed into the background in society. Routines have developed only very sporadically. Not only pandemics of global reach, but also regular waves of disease, such as the flu, cause enormous economic and social damage. That is why it is important not only to create infrastructure and to educate, inform and train medical professionals, but also the users of the infrastructure. What began as a digital platform for web-based training during the coronavirus pandemic has now developed into a network that aims to bring hygiene knowledge to society as a whole.

Kelsey Hargreaves - The Power of Cleaning with Knowledge in Healthcare
It is imperative that all that clean, supervise and manage within a facility management team have compliant and vast knowledge of cleaning. In this session, Kelsey, BICSc, will utilise a real life example of how training operatives in base level skills, and training supervisors in supervisor level knowledge can completely change the output of a cleaning team and the safety of the patients within a healthcare environment. Supported by mathematical and economic data, reviews from ministry of health officials and operatives conducting the task of cleaning, we will look into all tenets of a successful cleaning service and showing efficiency, excellence in hygiene standards and safety for the operative. Service demands are driven by money, but its time to see how, when driven with knowledge we can save money and create safer environments.

Video by Professor Didier Pittet From Clean Hands to Clean Hospitals
On 13 December a video will be shown of Professor Pittet in the Internation Hub. Professor Didier Pittet is the Director of the World Health Organization (WHO) Collaborating Centre on Patient Safety. The "From Clean Hands to Clean Hospitals" video emphasises the critical role of hygiene in combating healthcare-associated infections (HAIs). Beginning with the "Clean Care is Safer Care" initiative in 1994, the adoption of alcohol-based hand rubbing and a multimodal strategy significantly reduced infections globally. Building on this success, the 2018 "Clean Hospitals" initiative addresses environmental hygiene, a key contributor to HAIs, using a similar evidence-based, cost-effective framework. Achievements include the Healthcare Environmental Hygiene Self-Assessment Framework, global training, and improved hygiene standards. Clean Hospitals aims to expand its impact, promoting safer healthcare environments through collaboration, education, and innovation, saving lives worldwide.

Internationally, public awareness of hygiene and infection control issues has declined significantly after the coronavirus-pandemic. This also applies to the healthcare sector. However, the way hygiene concepts are handled varies greatly from country to country and region to region. While some have a strong focus on infection prevention in healthcare facilities, others have a more laissez-faire culture, often due to limited budgets and weak infrastructure. The presentation will look at some significant differences and best practice examples from various countries, with a particular focus on the differences between Germany and the USA and what both countries can learn from each other.
